About MissMooCo?

MissMooCo is an Australian brand founded in Melbourne in 2023 by a science-minded mum of three. We create thoughtfully made products that are gentler on families, little ones, and the environment - without compromising on odour neutralising features.

What products does MissMooCo offer?

We specialise in eco-conscious air fresheners and diffuser oils, crafted to fill your home with beautiful scents while reducing the use of harsh chemicals like parabens and phthalates.

Are your products made from safe ingredients?

Our products are consciously formulated to eliminate or reduce ingredients known to be mutagenic, carcinogenic, or endocrine-disrupting. That said, fragrance products may still cause mild irritation for some people. Always spray away from the face and body, and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Where are your products made?

All MissMooCo products are proudly made in Melbourne, Australia, using ingredients sourced from Australian suppliers that comply with IFRA standards and are reviewed using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for safety and quality.

Why are the air freshener solutions not clear?

Our air fresheners solutions aren’t always clear because of the essential and fragrance oils they are made from and how they interact. 

Essential oils and fragrance oils naturally contain plant compounds and pigments that can give the liquid a slight colour or haze.

Oil and water don’t naturally mix, so tiny droplets of oil can remain suspended in the liquid. These droplets scatter light, which makes the solution look cloudy instead of clear, even with the use of a natural emulsifer.

Why is the colour of my freshener slightly different than my last one?

At MissMooCo, we use pure essential oils which can vary slightly in colour from batch to batch. Just like fresh fruit or flowers, nature isn't always exactly the same.

These natural variations may result in subtle differences in the appearance of your product, but they do not affect its quality, performance, or safety. Every batch is carefully handcrafted to the same high standards, so you can enjoy the same beautiful experience every time.

We believe these beautiful natural variations are part of the charm of handcrafted air fresheners. They reflect the unique character of the pure essential oils we use, making every batch a little different while delivering the same beautiful fragrance you know and love. It's our way of staying true to nature - without relying on artificial colourants.

Are the odour eliminator sprays pet-safe?

Our sprays are pet-conscious, not pet-safe. We formulate our fragrances with responsible use in mind, but every pet can respond differently to fragrance and essential oils. We recommend using sprays in well-ventilated areas and keeping pets away from freshly sprayed surfaces.

Can I use the odour eliminator sprays around my dog or cat?

Yes, with appropriate precautions. Spray into the air or onto suitable surfaces away from your pet, allow the fragrance to disperse, and always give your pet the option to leave the area.

Can I spray the product directly onto my pet?

No. Our home sprays are designed for home and surface fragrance use only and should never be applied directly to pets.

Should I spray my pet's bedding?

We recommend avoiding direct application to bedding, blankets or items your pet regularly sleeps on or licks. If you choose to fragrance a room, spray the surrounding space rather than your pet's belongings. Some essential oils can be harmful to pets, particularly when they are concentrated, ingested, applied directly to the skin or deposited onto fur. Cats are especially sensitive because they have a limited ability to metabolise certain compounds found in essential oils.

Are essential oils harmful to pets?

Essential oils of particular concern include:

• Tea Tree (Melaleuca) - concentrated oil can cause weakness, wobbliness, tremors, vomiting, low body temperature and potentially serious poisoning in cats and dogs. Even a few concentrated drops can be dangerous.
• Eucalyptus - contains eucalyptol and is listed as toxic to cats and dogs; ingestion can cause drooling, vomiting, diarrhoea, weakness and depression.
• Citrus oils such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, bergamot and mandarin - citrus oils can be problematic, particularly for cats, with concentrated exposure presenting a greater risk.
• Pine oils - can cause gastrointestinal and neurological problems and are a recognised poisoning risk, particularly for cats.
• Peppermint - recognised as an essential oil that can cause poisoning in cats, particularly with higher-concentration exposure.
• Cinnamon and clove - both are recognised as potential poisoning risks, especially with concentrated exposure or ingestion.
• Wintergreen and sweet birch -contain salicylates and can cause serious toxicity, including gastrointestinal, neurological, liver and kidney problems.
• Pennyroyal - particularly concerning because exposure can cause severe liver damage and potentially be fatal.

Does diluting an essential oil make it safe for pets?

Not automatically. Dilution reduces the concentration and therefore may reduce exposure risk, but it does not make every essential oil pet-safe. The appropriate level of dilution depends on the specific oil, formulation, animal and method of exposure. Veterinary toxicology sources consistently advise that concentrated essential oils should never be applied directly to cats or dogs.

For a home fragrance product, we recommend avoiding direct contact with pets, their fur, food and water bowls, bedding and frequently licked surfaces.

What about a diluted essential oil in a room spray?

A finished room spray containing a small amount of essential oil is very different from applying concentrated essential oil directly to an animal. However, diluted does not mean risk-free. Pets can still be exposed through inhalation, skin contact, licking treated surfaces or oil droplets settling onto their fur. Use your spray lightly in a well-ventilated area, keep pets away while spraying, allow the fragrance to disperse, and always give your pet access to a fragrance-free area.

Remember less is always more in this case!

Are cats more sensitive than dogs?

Yes. Cats are generally considered more vulnerable to essential-oil toxicity because of differences in their liver metabolism, and their grooming behaviour can increase the chance of ingesting oils that have settled onto their fur.

What about birds?

Extra caution is needed around birds. Their respiratory systems are particularly sensitive, and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) recommends avoiding essential-oil diffusers around birds.

What should I do if my pet is exposed to concentrated essential oils?

If a pet has swallowed essential oil, had concentrated oil applied to their skin or fur, or develops symptoms such as vomiting, drooling, wobbliness, tremors or breathing difficulty, contact your veterinarian promptly. Essential-oil toxicity can be serious and should not be assessed solely by the percentage listed on a product.

Can I use your spray in a home with cats?

Extra care is recommended around cats because they can be particularly sensitive to certain fragrances and essential oils. Use only in well-ventilated areas, never spray directly on or near your cat, and provide a fragrance-free area where they can retreat.

How should I use the odour eliminator sprays around pets?

Keep it simple: spray lightly, ventilate the area, avoid direct exposure, and allow your pet to leave if they choose.

Are your products tested on animals?

No. Our products are not intended for application to animals. We recommend treating fragrance as a home product and keeping concentrated fragrance materials away from pets.

What should I do if my pet reacts to the fragrance or essential oil?

Stop using the product around your pet, move them to a well-ventilated, fragrance-free area and seek veterinary advice if you are concerned about their reaction.

Is your products kid-safe?

Our fragrances are kid-conscious, not kid-safe. They are thoughtfully formulated with responsible use around children in mind. This does not mean our products are suitable for direct use on children or babies. Keep products out of reach of children, never apply fragrance directly to skin, and avoid spraying near children's faces, food, toys or sleeping areas.

Can I use your sprays around children?

Yes, with appropriate precautions. Spray lightly into a well-ventilated space, avoid spraying directly around children, and allow the fragrance to disperse before spending extended time in the area.

Are your sprays safe for babies?

Not all essential oils are suitable for children or animals, particularly in concentrated form. Dilution does not automatically make every essential oil safe. Risk can depend on the specific oil, concentration, formulation and route of exposure. We recommend treating our products as home fragrance products rather than products intended for use on children or animals.

What should I do if my child or pet doesn't like the fragrance?

Let them choose. If your child or pet appears uncomfortable or avoids the fragranced area, ventilate the space and discontinue use around them. Our goal is to make beautiful-smelling homes while encouraging thoughtful, responsible fragrance use.

Are there any safety precautions?

Please follow these guidelines:

Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, contact the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 (within Australia). Keep away from heat and flames. Do not spray onto naked flames or any material that may ignite. For external use only. Do not spray directly on skin or eyes. Rinse with water if contact with eyes occurs. May cause skin irritation in some individuals.

These compounds may cause irritation or allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Please check the ingredient information before use if you have known fragrance sensitivities.
